I love recording audiobooks but I do miss my fellow actors (recording books can be a solitary pursuit) so I had a campaign to get back in to television or onstage (no, I\u2019m not giving up the books!). I did my first tv role for ages recently and I worked with the most marvellous group of actors and a wonderfully supportive crew. More details soon\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A stage and television actor gets reviewed but one of the disadvantages of being an audiobook narrator is that you work in a vacuum so often have no idea what the reaction of the listeners is. I do my best and hope that people enjoy my work. I\u2019m particularly happy when people take the time to track me down to tell me so.<\/p>\n

Led by award winning narrator Gordon Griffin, each workshop offers 6 participants the opportunity to spend a day immersed in the audiobook process. Gordon is one of the most prolific audiobook narrators in the world, with over 900 recordings to his credit. In 2017 he received an MBE from the Queen in the Birthday Honours List for his audiobook work. He is among ID AUDIO\u2019s most prized narrators.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshops take place at the our studio in Queen\u2019s Park and include: <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Detailed instruction from Gordon on both the audiobook industry and how to narrate an award winning audiobook.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Tour of the studio and insight into the production process by an ID Audio producer<\/p>\n

\u2013 Script preparation workshop<\/p>\n

\u2013 The opportunity to get behind the mic and receive notes from Gordon.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Complimentary teas, coffees and snacks throughout the day<\/p>\n

Participants will leave with a professional standard audiobook sample to submit to castings and voice agents and these will also go into ID AUDIO\u2019s casting database for consideration in future projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bernard’s autobiography has finally been recorded (by the brilliant\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Gordon Griffin) and will be released on 1st October this year. It’s obviously a shame that Bernard couldn’t do it (we just ran out of time unfortunately) but Gordon’s done a fantastic job<\/span><\/div>\n

Is it a coincidence that I read audiobook legend Gordon <\/span>Griffin<\/span><\/span>\u2019s wonderful book a couple of years back and have since won an Earphones Award and been nominated for an Audie? I think not!<\/p>\n
