The crime novel Antidote to Venom was written during the “Golden Age of Murder”. It was written by the then popular crime-writer Freeman Wills Crofts (sounds like a department store!) and published in 1938. The novel  is set in a fictional Midlands town and centres on the Zoo and its boss. Add ‘another woman’, gambling debts and a poisonous snake and …… well, you’ll have to read it! Or better still, listen to the audiobook recorded by me.!! I warn you, there’s a sting in the tale!!!!!
